The Cows 2010
The Cows represent people with a passion for life and a desire to support initiatives that make a difference. We say … LOVE LIVING LIFE! Have fun whilst making a difference. If you can associate with this ... Join the Herd Today! To join the 2010 Stampede, go to our website at www.the-cows.co.za.
The 2010 Stampede will be taking to the streets for with a peloton of more than 300 inspired cyclists dressed in Cow Suits riding the challenge for charity.
The 2010 Stampede aims to raise more than R4 million for CHOC (Childhood Cancer Foundation). The challenge for the 2010 Stampede is to upgrade the pediatric oncology wards at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital.
The pediatric oncology wards at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital provide hundreds of children from across South Africa with treatment for cancer. While some patients receive daily treatment through their outpatient ward, many remain in the wards for the duration of their treatment. The wards are in desperate need of upgrade to provide the level of care these children deserve.

Virgin Active is looking for ambassadors who are committed to making a difference and raising funds.

You can join individually, as a team, as a school, a department or even a corporate.
Fundraising on www.virginactivechallenge.co.za is not limited to any one sporting event or crazy idea, you can include, but are not limited to, any of the following:
- Sporting events or special achievements
- Commemorating a personal occasion or special event for example a wedding anniversary, christening or barmitzvah
- Just for the love of it
Creating your fundraising page is quick, easy and secure! Once you have created your page you can circulate a link of your page to your family, friends, clients, or colleagues, with a request to support your initiative. This is when you sit back and watch how your fundraising thermometer fill up and your page updates with kind encouraging messages from your supporters.
It’s easy as it sounds and will only take a little of your time!

Sparrow Spin-a-thon
Sparrow Schools’ SPIN-A-THON
Sparrow Schools is a registered Non Profit Organisation and Section 18 A Company. All donations are tax deductible and over 75% of our beneficiaries are Black persons and have disabilities. Support of our cause has BEE benefits for your company.
Sparrow Schools is based in Sophiatown and Melville and provides subsidized, specialised education to some of the most marginalized children in South Africa, underprivileged children with learning difficulties and educational backlogs. Many of these educational backlogs are a result of the increasing effect of poverty and trauma that children and youth are faced with as HIV and AIDS ravages their families and communities. We will be hosting a Spin-A-Thon on Saturday 8th May 2010 at the House of Fitness Gym in Melville as a fundraiser. The event will start at 08:00am and will end at 14:00pm followed by Thank you and acknowledgements. The proceeds will be in aid of our Educate – A- Child Programme which helps to provide a R13 000 subsidy for each of our learners. We aim to have 160 participants at this event.
We look forward to your participation and support. If you would like to be a part of Sparrow Schools Spin-A-Thon, or to find out more about becoming involved in our Educate a Child Programme please call us on (011)673 4410/9 or email us on sparrow@mweb.co.za
