My name is Thea. I have been involved with the Carel du Toit Centre for many years since my daughter Jana was a pupil of the school for 4 years. Jana was born deaf and received her first Cochlear implant at the age of 2. She had a second implant at the age of 5 and she is currently in grade 3 in a normal main stream school. Amanda and I have been friends for about 17 years and have been running together since then. We have done lots of races together, but never the Comrades. Therefore this year is our big year and we are both running to raise funds the Carel du Toit Centre.
