Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

This year, on Sunday, 8 November, I will again tackle the 50 km route of the Discovery Cape Times Big Walk. Although the entry fee goes towards a charity, I hope to raise additional funds for The Reach for A Dream Foundation.

Reach for a Dream is an organisation whose work I have always admired: giving hope to children who have a life-threatening illness. As a parent I am very grateful to have two robust, healthy girls, and cannot begin to imagine what it must feel like to watch one's child suffer the pain of a life-threatening illness. Through Reach for a Dream, some of these children are, for a day at least, lifted from the pain of their illness to experience wonder, excitement, joy ... the emotions our healthy children take for granted.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate. Your contribution to this page will benefit the children who are reached through The Reach for a Dream Foundation. More details about the Foundation are in the box on the left.

Your donations will not only help an ill child reach for a dream, but knowing that people have bet on me to do this thing, it will also encourage me to get out onto the road and train, give me the courage to get out of bed at the crack of dawm on the 8th, and push me along the road to the finish line, so please donate generously.
