Headway is a very worthy organisation which is particulalry close to my own family. My father, Eric, has been initimitely involved with Headway for over a decade. After suffering his own traumatic brain injury, Headway helped my father find his life again. He has since been part of the core functions of the running of the organisation.
I will be undertaking the mammoth Iron Man ultra triathlon on the 5th of April 2009 in Port Elizabeth.The race consists of a daunting 3.8km swim, 180km cycle and 42.2km run. My aim is to finish the race in under 12 hours.

Headway Gauteng |
Headway Gauteng is a fully registered welfare organisation dedicated to offering various support programmes to survivors of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and their families. The vast majority of our injured members have sustained a traumatic brain injury as a result of a motor vehicle accident, sporting accident or assault. We also assist survivors of acquired brian injuries such as stroke or tumour. These people have led a full life up until the brain injury, which has caused permanent changes to physical, cognitive, emotional and behavioural processes. The following services are provided at both Headway Hyde Park and Alexandra branches:
