Thank you for visiting this page.
In December 2008 we are planning to climb Mount Kenya. This has been along planned goal for many years as not only is it the second highest peak in Southern Africa, but it is also one of the most challenging rock climbs to summit.
Our climb will be lead by Gavin Raubenheimer.
He is an experienced South African mountain guide who has lead this climb many times before.
The climb will take nine days in total. This allows for three days to approach and acclimatise to the  altitude, one day of rock climbing to summit the 5200m mountainand one day to abseil down to base camp and  three days to walk out.

I, Beth McLeod am a Medical Doctor.
In my medical practice I have had the privilege of working  with Shawn Kuster. He has Multiple Sclerosis and has fought the ebb and flow of this slowly progressive condition with inspiring strength and  patience.Through his care I have learned so much  about this disease and appreciate that while research is being carried out in many  centres around the world ,that patients like Shawn need daily holistic care to cater for their various medical needs. These would include: physiotherapy, biokinetics, orhoptics, dietetics, urology, psychology, neurology and general medical needs.
All these disciplines  while ideal  are costly.
So I would  like to dedicate this Climb  to raise funds for  people like  Shawn in the Multiple Sclerosis Society KZN to try and make a contribution to their well being.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate. Your contribution to this page will benefit the charity listed on the left.
