Team Hollyhock (Matthys Visser and Deon de Wet) aka “friends of the BMCF” will be riding the Subaru Sani2c this year (from 4 March 2010 to 6 March 2010), covering a total of 273km over three days on mountain bikes to raise funds for the Bone Marrow Charity Fund (and of course to have fun). The Bone Marrow Charity Fund was established to cover the costs involved for Standard Bank employees who wish to register as Bone Marrow Donors.
Matthys and Deon are not employed by Standard Bank, but have decided that this is a worthy cause that they are prepared to support.
Kindly sponsor the guys per km that they will be riding even if it is 20c or R2 per km.
The person making the biggest single donation will also be thanked for their contribution with a 1.5L Vrede en Lust, 2003 Reserve Magnum (a Bordeaux blend) with free delivery in Johannesburg.
We would like to thank Linden Cycles and Dunkeld Cycles for sponsoring our team with cycling shirts. A special thanks to Vrede en Lust for sponsoring the wine and to Donald Philp for designing our logo.

Bone Marrow Charity Fund |
This fund was established by Gerhard Schröder and Kirsty Mackenzie in October 2009 for the purpose of covering the costs involved registering Standard Bank employees who want to register as Bone Marrow Donors. We work with the Sunflower Fund and by doing this we are trying to take some financial burdens off them and try to register as many people as possible. Please be aware that this is not a Standard Bank fund or initiative, but purely an employee initiative as Standard Bank will not be connected to the fund. |
