Dear donor
My name is James Schlebusch and I am a grade 8 boy at St Stithians Boys College. I am excited to be climbing Kilimanjaro from 16 to 24 April 2009 with Arthur and Iain Marsden; Andrew and Darren Morkel; Vaughan and Kyle de la Harpe; Wayne Stuurman; Michael Atkinson; Matthew and Michael Ilsley; Peter Schlebusch, which will be lead by Sean Disney. When we had booked and everything, I thought, why not take this great opportunity to raise money for the less fortunate! So I set my goal as to raise R15 000.00 with the most, the greatest of support by First Ascent which have supplied me with the greatest of kit. I am really hoping to raise this money from donations for climbing Kilimanjaro that I may be able to contribute towards financing the construction of a bore hole, water pump and water storage tanks - in conjunction with Rand Water Board - for an underprivileged community. My contributions will be channeled through the St Stithian's Boys College Interact Club. It is sad to think that in 2009 there are many underprivileged communities in close proximity to us that have to walk many kilometers just to fetch drinking water or to wash their clothes. I cannot think how difficult it must be to not have access to running water. How easily we take it for granted when we turn the tap on that we have clean, instantly available drinking water. I am hoping that through my climbing Kilimanjaro, and with your much valued and appreciated financial support, that together we can make a difference in the lives of an underprivileged community. Please can I ask for your support to make this dream of running water a reality for our fellow human beings, whose lives are a daily struggle, without life's most basic necessity - water, readily available. Many thanks for your valued support - it really is greatly appreciated!!
