Ironman 2011

Ironman is a 3.8km swim, followed by a 180 km cycle, followed by a 42.2 km standard length marathon, a total grueling 226 km. It is recognised around the world as one of the toughest athletic events one can participate in! It is a huge challenge and it would certainly help me race, knowing at the back of my mind I'm racing for a cause! The Theo Jackson Fund does a terrific job giving kids from disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to attend a quality school and receive the same opportunities I did! Since I'm going to do the 226 km, I want to challenge you to contribute R226 to this great cause!

Theo Jackson Scholarship Fund |
| Set up by his sons 4 years ago in memory of Theo Jackson, the fund provides funding for the schooling and accommodation of disadvantaged, often orphan, boys at Jeppe High School for boys. Funding is obtained from family, friends and corporates and boys are selected based on family and financial circumstances and by displaying positive characteristics in the face of trying circumstances. |
