Thanks for taking the time to check my latest fundrasing attempt - not a tough challenge but the charity is so worthy...
The JAG Sports and Education Foundation in South Africa, runs programmes to encourage, motivate, train and mentor school children based on sporting activities and especially around running. The South African Olympic silver medalist, Elana Meyer, is their CEO and they have a number of significant successes - please feel free to check out their website at www.jagfoundation.com.
Runners like myself can obtain guaranteed entries to the 2008 New York Marathon by raising money for the official New York charity but the organizers have agreed that the money we raise will all be going back into the JAG Mighty Meters programme. Therefore all monies raised in SA will ONLY be used for local JAG initiatives.
I will be running the marathon to raise awareness for this great cause!
