Say No to Xenophobia

Personal message
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Yesterday I found myself reflecting on the significance of Africa Day which is celebrated every year on the 25th of May since 1963 when the OAU was formed. There are no words to express the sense of shame and dispair that I felt because of the level of intolerance and xenophobia that many of our brothers and sisters are subjected to in South Africa at the moment.
I have therefore taken the challenge to fundraise R 25.000-00 for an organisation that is alleviating the desperate circumstances of refugees who have suffered xenophobic attacks in Johannesburg. The Randburg Methodist Church is offering food, blankets, medical care and shelter to victims and I know that our contributions will be used to alleviate the inhuman conditions in which the refugees are living in. I hope that in some small way we can all contribute towards restoring a semblance of dignity in the lives of these innocent victims.
To all my family members, friends, colleagues, fans, visitors to my webpage, etc...please share my goal by reaching for that credit card to donate to this worthy cause. I have teamed up with a secure website www.easigiving.co.za (alternatively named www.backabuddy.co.za ) that will facilitate the donation process. Please check it out for yourself - they are doing an amazing job.
Equally as important as your donation, is the need to spread the word about this opportunity to make a difference in the world. Please make my fundraising page your cause too and pass on the details (www.easigiving.co.za/nana) without delay to as many friends as you can. Do it NOW before you forget ! There are so many network we can use in this hi tech age so tell everyone verbally, by email, SMS on facebook, skype or however you can whether in SA or anywhere else in the world. A small 100 Euro hard currency donation will go a long way in Rands.
If you are a visitor to my fund-raising page, and would like to spread the message, you can click on the Promote this page tab.
You will be able to track our progress towards our target by looking at the lovely hearty Herb - the closer we get to the target the happier he gets. There is also a barometer on this page. You also have a chance to send in comments for my webpage.
Many thanks for your support and may "humanity" prevail against "evil"...
With lots of love,
Nana
