HI All:
Thanks for coming here and considering sponsoring my ride on August 2, in a very short while. I will ride 300 kms in 4 days with about 400 other people through Northern South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana. We will follow elephant trails and dry riverbeds through National Parks. At night we will camp in the parks. The purpose is to raise funds for Children in The Wilderness.
Children in the Wilderness is a non-profit dedicated to helping disadvantaged children see the beauty and potential in the wild places of Africa. Using environmental education, therapeutic recreation and good old-fashioned fun, Children in the Wilderness creates an awareness of interpersonal skill and an increased involvement in the environment while fostering the creative spirit. The program develops resilience in the children, increases their self-esteem and therefore builds and strengthens their capacities to cope with life’s challenges. As Children in the Wilderness enter its tenth year, the opportunities presented by the programme are increasing; there is always much to be done to help the youth of southern Africa. This means that there is a need to be proactive with regards to fundraising in order to realize the program's potential.
A note about South African Currency. One RAND is 10 cents. So when you go to the Donate Now page you will see options in Rand. If you click on R200 that is about $20. I hope none of you will click that one and will do a slightly higer one.... If you want to donate $100 you need to choose R1,000. You can use a credit card which is the easiest.
Feel free to e mail me with comments, advice (This will be my first off track biking event), questions and wishes.
My e mail is: nathaniel86@mac.com
Thanks to all of you,
Nathaniel
