Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
As most of you know, my daughter Courtney passed away on the 10th of June 2008 after being diagnosed with leukaemia and treated with chemotherapy.
In the midst of all our heartache we had several experiences that have become treasured memories. We were fortunate enough to be sent to Sun City for the weekend courtesy of The Reach for a Dream Foundation. I have to say that the elephant interaction was the highlight of a long and stressful time in our lives. To see my daughter so thin, pale and fragile next to the biggest and strongest creature in the world is a sight I will never ever forget.
There was a certain amount of symbolism in the whole experience, a mother feeling helpless in circumstances out of her control but never without hope or faith.
My challenge is going to be shedding the extra weight I have carried around for too long. You can choose to sponsor me as a once-off incentive, continuously as I progress or wait until I have reached my goal weight. But which ever way you choose to support please know that all the money raised will go straight to The Reach for a Dream Foundation and help them to fund other children's dreams.
