We're sad to report that JP passed away peacefully on Sunday 22nd April 2012.
Our condolences to his wife Mary-Ann, JP's son Jean-Carl as well as JP's parents, brothers and all the family.

Our friend 'JP' Jean-Pierre Schefferlie is a loving father of 14 year old Jean-Carl and an awesome boyfriend to our friend Mary-Ann Fowler.
JP is that 'uber-guy' that people talk about; he's kind, gentle, funny, caring and always there when a friend needs help.
After Carsanoma cancer was removed from his lip in 2009, the nerves in the left hand side of JP's cheek were damaged and he was left with no feeling in the left hand side of his face. In May 2011 JP was diagnosed with Carsanoma cancer in his jaw. The cancer was undetected for several months and as a result has already destroyed the bone in the bottom left hand side of his jaw.
We need your help.
JP is currently undergoing daily radiation treatment as well as weekly chemotherapy. The road to recovery is a long one, JP will need full jaw reconstruction (bone from his femur will be used to reconstruct his jaw.) He will also require a full set of teeth after the reconstruction.
JP doesn't have medical aid, over the next year his medical bills will be R550000.

The Paige Project |
The Paige Project is a charity organisation who’s main objectives are to raise funds to benefit disadvantaged children with physical and mental disabilities (primarily caused by cerebral palsy), by supplying their family, care facilities or social workers with equipment or training courses to assist in the child’s development. Desmond Tuk Tuk Team is using The Paige Project account on "backabuddy.co.za" as a solution to donate funds to the team through a safe and secure method. All funds will be donated amongst 3 charities: Clair: Peninsula School Feeding Association PSFA has provides meals everyday to hungry children in 739 primary, secondary and special-needs schools in the Western Cape www.psfa.org.za Nicky: "iThemba Lethu" means "hope" or "destiny" in Zulu. Durban orphanage that takes in orphaned and abandoned babies. Megs : The Paige project- caring for under privileged children with cerebral palsy in South Africa- www.thepaigeproject.co.za) All monies raised go to the charties and no donated monies will be used to fund our travels to Sri Lanka. |
