I am the Marketing Manager at Makro Woodmead in Johannesburg. I have recently moved back to South Africa after living in the UK for 17 years. When I got back I was approaching 40, overweight and very unfit.

I met with the CHOC Team to progress some fundraising ideas that linked to MAKRO and Massmart. They were very persuasive and asked me to consider riding the 94.7 Cycle Challenge. I quickly decided to join The Cows and raise funds for CHOC by riding dressed in a Cow Suit.

We are targeting raising more than R4 million to upgrade the pediatric oncology wards at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital. The pediatric oncology wards at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital provide hundreds of children from across South Africa with treatment for cancer.

I have not been on a bike since the late 1980's - so this is a huge challenge. So far I feel quite confident - I am getting fitter, lost loads of weight and all for a good cause.

The Cows that I have met are amazing people and their passion for raising funds for this very worthy cause is humbling. I am proud to be able to do my little bit.

To all my UK friends and family - The 94.7 Cycle Challenge is a 59 mile bike ride right round Johannesburg. As you all know - I was a fat bugger 6 months ago - I have now lost 2 stone and plan for another one before the race on the 21st November. Please give generously - a few UK Pounds becomes many Rands.
