A visit to the African Bushveld is good for the soul, it invigorates the spirit and revitilizies the mind and body. Difficult to discribe unless you have been there, and difficult to stay away once you have experienced it.

The call of the Crested Francolin at dawn, being first to tramp the dew on an early morning walk, drinks whilst observing an African sunset. Following a pride of Lions on the hunt, a bonfire in the boma, followed by the night sounds....a Fiery Necked Nighjar...the Black Backed Jackal, ....laughing Hynea.... 

Managing Africa's Natural resources is a challange with its own sensitivities, finding a fine balance between fighting proverty and creating sustainable development. The Children of the Wilderness charity programmes are doing positive things in these harsh, but beautiful areas of Southern Africa. They are providing the relevant education and a much needed future for the people of these areas.

These programmes will help to ensure that these areas and the lodges which are located close to them, which enable us to experience the African Bushveld, will remain for future generations. 

In an effort to support the work of the Children of the Wilderness, we are cycling through one of the most beautiful Wilderness areas of the Southern African region, the Tuli Block. Well known for its game, especially Lion and Elephants, the Limpopo River snakes through this area, bringing life to all that live here.
