Building the Archdiocese, One Brick At A Time

The Archdiocese invites all parishioners to join us in the rebuilding of the Chancery and enhancement of the Cathedral precinct.  Not only have the Chancery and the surroundings grown increasingly dilapidated over the years but we have also begun to outgrow the capacity of the current facilities.

The Chancery is the heart of the Church within the Archdiocese and should provide a welcoming atmosphere conducive to the spiritual growth and upliftment of the people it serves.

The new Chancery has allowed me to look at the whole site and create an environment that will be something that all Catholics and all visitors will be very proud of.

An environment that plays its part in uplifting the whole of Johannesburg, an environment that respects the sanctity of a place of prayer, quiet and celebration. A place to cultivate your soul.

Based on input from many members of the Archdiocese, I and my team have enjoyed creating a model that will be with us for hundreds of years.”
