Sekolo Sa Borokgo

Sekolo sa Borokgo, (SSB) established in 1993, is a co-educational, independent Middle School (Blairgowrie) and Matric Centre (Randburg), registered with the Gauteng Department of Education. Our objective is to enable Black students to acquire university (or equivalent) entrance.

The focus of the school is to provide top academic education and development in Maths, Science and English 1st language. All other mainstream subjects are offered. There is a strong commitment in the school to developing the "whole child" and the learners are encouraged to take part in the Maths and Science Olympiads, the Science Expo, the Randburg Eisteddfod, the Presidential Awards, choir, drama, dance, chess and swimming. Computer education and the use of the computer for Maths and English extension is an important part of the curriculum.

SSB has been identified as a hub school by ISASA (Independent Schools Association of Southern Africa) Maths and English programme, which seeks to increase the throughput of Black Learners who matriculate with Maths and English (combined with Science, Life Science, Economics or Accounting) on a national basis.

SSB relies heavily on donations and sponsorships, as several students require financial assistance, but despite operating on very limited resources, we endeavour to live up to our mission of "Meeting the needs of the community we serve, by providing excellent, affordable education".
