Smile Foundation

The primary focus of the Smile Foundation is to address the medical backlog in State Academic hospitals by assisting patients requiring reconstructive surgery. Budgetary constraints have also been an issue hindering State Academic Hospitals’ ability to remedy the problem. The Smile Foundation is involved in Public Private Partnerships within State Academic Hospitals in South Africa.

The Smile Foundation offers children from financially and socially disadvantaged backgrounds, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery to enable them to smile. These children suffer from treatable facial abnormalities such as Cleft Lip and Palate, burns, Moebius syndrome (facial paralysis) and other conditions.
