2011 Spec-Savers Ironman South Africa

Thank you for visiting my back a buddy page.

As most of you are aware, on Wednesday the 3rd March 2010 Ill be taking part in the 2010 sani2c Adventure. This is a 3 day race from Underberg school in Underberg, Southern KZNatal to Scottburgh Main Beach in Scottburgh South Coast, KZNatal. The total KM: 249.7KM and the total ascent over the 3 days: 4575m. For more info visit www.sani2c.co.za.

This year, this race I have decided to include another little extra challenge which will make my achievement that much more meaningful. I have decided to try and raise much needed funds in the name of my beautiful daughterm, for an incredible organisation called MaAfrika Tikkun. I am appealing to family members, friends, colleagues and various corporates to sponsor me in my challenge in aid of MaAfrika Tikkun.

In short, MaAfrika Tikkun is a non-governmental non-profit organisation that works toward the transformation of South African communities by caring for vulnerable children and orphans in townships. MaAfrika Tikkun implements a holistic circle of care model that is focused on providing sustainable care and development to families and children as they grow up. This continuity of support ensures that the children’s changing needs are met as they mature, to become well-adjusted & contributing members of society.

MaAfrika Tikkun is an organization that is a HELPING HAND rather than a HAND OUT.

With the race concentrated around ExCeL, it makes for a great spectator arena. The Transition and the Finish are indoors – so makes a great place to watch from! Make sure you bring all your friends and family along for the day.

For the third consecutive year, Hyde Park hosts the Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship Series. And the 2011 event will exceed everything that triathlon in the UK has seen before. The world's best triathletes will have the last opportunity to test themselves on the proposed 2012 Olympic Triathlon Course while 4,500 amateur triathletes will get the chance to race in the same place and savour the atmosphere of the venue.

Ironman 70.3 Buffalo City 2012 - IM4SK

Ironman 70.3 Buffalo City is probably the toughest half-ironman race around when you look at the course: generally cold surf swim, massive hills on the bike and a couple loops up Bunkers Hill on the run.

IronMan for Street Kids will be there and looking to generated great support for I Care and street kids, at what is a very well supported spectator event.

SPECSAVERS IRONMAN SOUTH AFRICA 2012

This iconic triathlon endurance event takes place annually in Nelson Mandela Bay, Port Elizabeth, South Africa. An Ironman event comprises a 3.8km Swim, 180km Cycle and 42.4km Run all to be completed in under 17 hours in order to be called an IRONMAN.
