Our background

The directors of BackaBuddy initiated the web-based sponsorship programme to capitalise on the popularity of community-based networks. In recent years, millions of dollars have been channelled to deserving causes through the efforts of enthusiastic sports event participants using these networks.

South Africans are among the most generous people in the world and BackaBuddy aims to prove this by linking activities such as marathon running, cycle competitions and multi-discipline events with the needs of our many deserving South African causes. In this way, we hope to benefit hundreds of deserving charities.
