Every heartbeat tells a story. Every stethoscope gives a student the chance to listen.

As medical students, we share a common purpose: to learn, to serve, and to care. Yet, as we move from textbooks to the bedside, we face a shared challenge - the tools we need to care for you, like stethoscopes, can place a financial strain on students. Some enter the wards without essential equipment - not because they lack dedication or talent, but because the cost is beyond their means.

This inspired me to launch a student-led initiative grounded in a simple belief: it is better to give than to receive.

In the months leading up to my 21st birthday, I will be running 21 × 21.1 km to raise R21 000, which will be used to purchase stethoscopes for third-year students who are unable to afford them as they transition into clinical training.
