Education is the great engine of personal development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that the son of a mineworker can become the Head of the mine, that a child of a farmworker can become the

It is with those words by the great Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela that Onke"The New Age Madiba" is determined to put his life on the line to give children in secluded Villages a voice by his 27 days walk campaign inspired by the 27 Years Nelson Mandela spent in prison.

Meet The Walker

My name is Onke, also known as The New Age Madiba, in September 2025 I will be walking on foot from Cape Town to Umtata via the garden route for 27 days straight — a journey of hope, healing, and purpose.

In a world powered by technology, there are still high schools in rural South Africa without access to computers or basic digital skills. This walk is a prayer for my village in the Eastern Cape and a call to action for all of us.
