In Mabbhahhu, Eswatini, a young woman runs a soup kitchen that feeds around 72 children every day, along with elderly neighbours who can no longer cook for themselves. Her mother-in-law started it years ago, before COVID, from her own home. It has never stopped.

This year the local chief gave the kitchen an old building to work from. Purple Industries repaired it and put up a fence, so for the first time there's a proper, safe place to cook and to gather. The building is ready. The pots are on. What's missing is a way to keep them full without depending on donations that may or may not come.

Behind that new fence, we want to prepare the ground, get water to it, and plant beds that feed the children through the year and cut what the kitchen has to buy in. It's the difference between asking for food every month and growing it.

We know this works because we've watched it work. At Hlobani, we started a flock of 100 chickens; they're being sold now, and the project is begin...
