A second chance to life

My name is Louise, and I am asking for your help for my husband, Gershwin Perreira, and our family.

Gershwin is a loving husband and father to our three sons. 

Our lives changed suddenly when Gershwin suffered a life-threatening brain haemorrhage and stroke caused by an aneurysm. He required emergency treatment and major brain surgery, during which part of his skull had to be removed to relieve pressure and save his life.

What followed was an incredibly frightening and uncertain journey. There were moments when we didn't know whether Gershwin would survive or what his future would look like.

But Gershwin fought.

After spending time in hospital and undergoing extensive treatment, he began the long road of rehabilitation. He had significant weakness on one side of his body and had to relearn many things that we normally take for granted.

Today, he has made remarkable progress and is walking with a crutch. Every step is a victory and a reminder of how far he has come.

But our journey is not over.
