Telana Breytenbach is a 17-year-old South African athlete, Hoërskool Oos-Moot (DOB: 9 March 2009). On 25 May 2026, during a match, she suffered a complete ACL tear (full rupture, left knee) — confirmed by MRI on 2 June 2026 at Pretoria MR Trust.
Her surgeon has confirmed: emergency reconstructive surgery is required. Estimated cost: R120,000 (≈ $7,250 USD at R16.56/$, June 2026).
Telana lives in a single-parent household (her mother and grandparents). No medical aid. No safety net. Without surgery, her athletic future ends here.
