Adventure holiday for people who are blind

Holidays are refreshing, invigorating and often life changing.  For someone who is blind, a holiday is all of this and more.  For the past 21 years, Higher Ground has been running therapeutic adventure holidays for people with disabilities.  We have seen the benefits and we are utterly convinced that our holidays are not just a nice option, but a necessity.  People who are blind often deal with loneliness, isolation, lack of work, lack of physical activity, transportation difficulties and so much more.  These difficulties are a result of the world around them not being properly adapted to their specific needs, and there are solutions!  At Higher Ground we create an environment where people who are blind can thrive and experience fun and joy.  Roped pathways enable independence; shared meals and activities create opportunities to build friendships and to network and problem solve; exciting activities help people find new hobbies, realise all they can do and be physically active.  There is so much to a time at Higher Ground.  We wish more...
