In January 2021 our twins were born at 32 weeks with TTTS (Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome) and TAPS (Twin Anemia Polycythemia Sequence),

TAPS is a rare condition that occurs when there are unequal blood counts between the twins in the womb. Emily Morgan was our Recipient twin and Aimee Mileah was our Donor twin.

Aimee was in NCIU for 72 days, had three blood transfusions, Sepsis, Gastroesophageal relaxation disease, and Bronchopulmonary dysplasia. After she was discharged we did hearing and eye tests as she was on oxygen for a long time. Her eyes were fine but she is bilaterally deaf.

At 7 months we took her to a pediatric neurologist as she was not reaching her milestones as her twin sister. It was confirmed that she had Cerebral Palsy. In the months that followed we have sessions twice a month with a Speech Therapist, as she wears hearing devices to prepare her for the Cochlear implants in 2022 and 2023.

We have weekly sessions with the Occupation...
