Aldrich’s Journey – From Survivor to Fighter Again

💔 With the heaviest of hearts…

Aldrich’s bronchoscopy results are back, and the words we prayed never to hear again have become our reality:

It’s cancer.

Aldrich has already fought cancer once. Diagnosed at just 11 years old with papillary thyroid cancer that had spread to his lungs and groin, he endured years of treatment and finally gave us two precious years of remission.

Now, the cancer is back.

Aldrich is struggling to breathe and is dependent on oxygen 24/7. We are facing a new and uncertain chapter, and we are taking it one day, one breath and one prayer at a time.

We are travelling to Cape Town on 21 September to meet with the oncology team at Grootte Schuur Hospital. The doctors will discuss Aldrich’s case and the treatment plan and what the next steps will be. We honestly don’t know what to expect.
