Hi everyone
Aldus had a major back operation on the 14th of March. The neurosurgeon performed: laminectomy, discectomy and nerve decompression of the Lumbar spine L2-S1
He did not do very well with anesthesia and ended up in ICU for 4 days instead of the anticipated High care that was planned.
Eventually discharged we noticed a straw-colored fluid leaking from the wound- made contact with the dr and he advised that we have to operate again to be able to make seal from where the CSF was leaking from.
Now, a week after the second op he is doing better.
The second admission caused quite a bit of shortfall from the medical aid side
So we are sitting with a few account that need to be paid up which Medical won’t cover.
These includes
Hospital admission costs
Anesthesiology cost
Bloods and imaging
Support equipment such as a back brace.
The proceeds will cover all of the above mentioned
