Annemé has been passionate about kickboxing for the past 7 years, slowly building herself up through hard work and dedication. In early 2024, she suffered a knee injury but continued to compete through the pain, showing true resilience. Despite the setback, she still managed to earn second and third place at the South African Kickboxing Championships that year.
Shortly after the event, she was diagnosed with a torn ACL and underwent knee reconstruction surgery in June 2024. This meant no high-impact activity for at least 9 months. Through consistent physiotherapy, determination, and self-discipline, she was officially cleared to return to kickboxing in February 2025.
And she didn’t waste a second—Annemé came back stronger than ever, securing two second-place finishes at the 2025 South African Championships. Her hard work paid off when she was selected to represent South Africa at the Seniors & Masters World Championships in Abu Dhabi this November.
