Thank you for taking the time to read this!
Getting accepted into a Residency as an Artist is a big deal! But being accepted into the first ever AfrikaBurn Visual Arts Residency is much much cooler!
Not only does this allow me to further my professional practice and make some cool Art, it also allows me a chance to affect change in the predatory and exploitative Art World and economy. A chance to export the 11 principles a human attitude into the Visual Arts Culture of Residencies.
The Residency requires a relocation to Cape Town where Accommodation costs are my biggest concern. If the target amount is achieved this will go directly towards three months of rent in Cape Town (R5000 per month).
If there is any overflow it will go towards funding food, water, equipment for and transport to Quaggafontein which is a part of the Residency programme.
