I was 21 years old when doctors told me I could not have children.
This is the story of my second born.
When I found out I was pregnant with baby Amariah, I felt there was something wrong with this baby for some odd reason. At 12 weeks in the womb, termination was laid out on the table as baby Amariah's stomach was on the wrong side, and this affected her heart. And as a mother, a woman who was told she could not have children, my heart sank because terminating a God-given gift was not in my vocabulary.
I went home that day in tears that kept on rolling. I cried out, "Lord, if this baby is not meant to be here, you take her. You planted her here, so you take her. I'm not making that decision to terminate my baby." I went for check-ups after check-ups to make sure baby Amariah was still going strong. I carried baby Amariah up until 36 weeks. Baby Amariah was born on the 2nd of September 2026. Her one lung collapsed, and this made it difficult for baby Amariah to breathe on her own.
