This is my dream. Not a hobby, not a phase, not something I'll grow out of — I want to race a bicycle for a living, and I've built my whole life around making it happen. My name is Jolynn Botha, I'm a matric learner from Durbanville, and I'm asking you to help me chase the one thing I want more than anything: to become a professional cyclist.
What still gives me goosebumps is how fast this dream has taken hold of me. I've only been in the sport for two years, and just one of those with a proper coach. Most riders I line up against have been doing this since they were children. I came in late, with everything to prove — and this season alone, the results have come faster than I ever imagined:
