Operation Eina/Help The BoM
Greetings all!
The time has come for me to face my fear and undergo surgery that I have been putting off for over 10 years. This will be the fourth operation for the same issue. To say that I am not looking forward to it, is an understatement
The last operation was in 2012. It was extremely painful and uncomfortable, and to add insult to injury, my experience in the hospital post surgery was super unpleasant (traumatic actually).
I have recurring pleomorphic adenoma and the MRI showed that I have tumors scattered all over the inside of my cheek, plus 2 larger tumors. The one has steadily become larger and has become uncomfortable, and that is why I need to have this surgery.
I had to cancel the surgery at the last minute last year, because the hospital needed a co-payment of R40000 before they would admit me. And so I had to upgrade my medical aid to a higher (more expensive) plan this year to avoid a co-payment.
