Basson needs Help

Dear Family and Friends,

We would like to give you an update on our 5-month-old little boy, Basson.

Basson was admitted to MediClinic Potchefstroom on Monday evening after being diagnosed with COVID-19 and RSV. He was initially diagnosed with hypoxic pneumonia, which has thankfully improved and has now been reclassified as bronchitis.

He is currently in isolation in the pediatric ward. On Tuesday evening, he was moved from standard oxygen therapy to a high-flow oxygen machine to better support his breathing and give his little lungs the help they need. At just 5 months old, this has been an incredibly frightening experience for our family. We continue to trust in God and pray every day for his complete recovery.

Unfortunately, we do not currently have an active medical aid, which means that all of Basson's medical expenses must be paid out of pocket. In his case, a public hospital was unfortunately not a suitable option.

Since Monday, we have already paid R22,000....
