Become a Champion of Change

I'm Amanda Blankfield-Koseff, founder and CEO of Empowervate.

For as long as I can remember, I've believed that each of us has both the opportunity and the responsibility to leave the world a little better than we found it.

That belief became the foundation of Empowervate, because if we want a better world, we cannot wait for someone else to create it. Change begins when ordinary people choose to act.

I was reminded of that when I watched Landile, a Grade 7 learner, describe what happened after one of her classmates was knocked down by a car outside their school. Instead of accepting it as something that "just happens", her class asked a different question: "What can we do to stop this from happening again?"

Together, they created a road safety project to help protect other children.

What stayed with me wasn't only what they achieved. It was the confidence with which Landile spoke. She believed her voice mattered. She believed she could be part of the solution.

That's why Empowervate exists.
