I am beginning this campaign to support my mother, a woman who has displayed immense courage in heart, mind, body, and spirit throughout an incredibly difficult journey. My hands feel tied, as all I can do is pray, hope, and maintain faith that we will find a way to address the overwhelming financial burden of R 510,000. No price can ever be placed on the life of a woman who has had such a profound impact and influence on my life.
Here is her story:
On November 7, 2023, at the age of 59, I was diagnosed with node-positive breast cancer. My cancer is strongly Estrogen and Progesterone positive, as well as Node positive. The goal of my treatment has been radical in nature.
My treatment plan has included:
16 Chemotherapy sessions
Surgery:
Lumpectomy (Removal of tumor in the breast)
Axillary dissection (Removal of 11 lymph nodes)
30 sessions of Radiation therapy
After completing chemotherapy, I was still left with 3 positive lymph nodes and a T2 residual tumor.
