Please help me to pay it forward and give others an opportunity to also have a second chance. 

It will be 13 months post my successful heart transplant when I take on the 106km Amashova this October with my beautiful wife, Judy, and a team of cyclists.  I want people to see that you can have a great life post-transplant and honouring your donor and donor family in living a good life is the best way to say thank you.

Imagine you are close to dying and receive information that a family has given you an incredible gift of life. That is what happened to me and as a result, my family and I will be eternally grateful to my angel donor and donor family.

I had been cycling for years when I initially fell ill and my life changed.  In short, I had an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) inserted after a number of other medical interventions in order to regulate my irregular heartbeat.  The ICD can send an energy shock that resets an abnormal heartbeat back to normal.
