Blind Councillor swims 25th consecutive Midmar Mile to raise funds for Prinshof School for the Visually Impaired
Good day,
My name is Hentie Nortjé. As a blind individual, I'm fortunate to wear many hats – working, living, and playing in Pretoria.
I am currently preparing to swim my 25th consecutive Midmar Mile, which will take place on Saturday the 8th of February 2025, to raise funds for Prinshof School for the Visually Impaired.
The plight of the disabled in South Africa is very close to my heart. It is for this reason that I have decided to swim my 25th Midmar Mile to raise funds for Prinshof School for the Visually Impaired, where my own educational journey began.
Funds raised with this campaign will specifically be used by the school to fund their project to improve water safety and basic swimming skills for foundation phase learners, which they are currently running in cooperation with an institution known as Kiddies Aqua.&nbs...
