Blind Parents, Bold Dreams for Our Daughter

This is not easy for us to write, but we’re asking for help because we truly have no other option.

My husband and I are both blind. We have a beautiful little girl who means the world to us. She is kind, smart, and full of dreams — and like any parent, we want to give her the best future possible.

We applied to many schools, and every one of them said no. It broke our hearts. But we kept praying. And God opened one door. The one school we trusted and prayed for said yes . She has been accepted into Grade R , and we believe with all our hearts that this is the school meant for her.

But now, we are facing a mountain we can’t climb alone.

The registration fee of R3,500 is due by 1 August , and monthly school fees are also R3,500 . That’s only the beginning. We also need to cover transport , uniform, stationery , and swimming lessons .

Swimming is part of the school’s curriculum. Our little girl must be drown-proofed before she starts — to keep her safe. But...
