Helping Our Brave Girl Battle PANS/PANDAS

Imagine waking up one morning & finding that your happy, thriving child has seemingly changed overnight. For our dear Marc & Nicole, this nightmare became a reality when their 12-year old daughter, Zarah, was struck by a devastating & little-known condition called PANS/PANDAS. 

PANS/PANDAS stands for Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder, occurs when infection, immune dysfunction, environmental triggers, or other inflammatory events cause the immune system to mistakenly attack the brain. The resulting neuroinflammation can trigger sudden & severe changes in a child's behaviour, emotions, cognition, physical health, & ability to function in everyday life. 

Overnight, a child can be gripped by intense anxiety, severe OCD, uncontrollable tics, extreme mood changes, chronic fatigue, & a complete shift in personality. They are trapped inside their own bodies, fighting an invisible war against their own immune system.
