In a small community called Westbury, in Johannesburg, South Africa, where unemployment and poverty shape daily reality, something remarkable happens every morning.

Young people still show up.

They show up carrying hope.

Hope of becoming chefs, designers, entrepreneurs, and professionals. Hope of supporting their families. Hope of becoming the first in their household to truly break the cycle.

Mashup exists because talent is universal. Opportunity is not.

Since 2013, Mashup has helped young people gain skills, confidence, and access to employment pathways. Many of our students have gone on to secure jobs, support their families, and become role models in their community.

Today, we are preparing to support 50 young people through a future-ready skills programme, including:

• Digital and AI literacy
• Computer and workplace skills
• Career readiness and mentorship
• Personal development and leadership

In today’s world, digital skills are no longer optional. They are survival skills.
