A Community Grade R for Hout Bay

Every child deserves a strong start.

For many years, First Friends Preschool has been a community-driven school serving the children and families of Hout Bay. We have always believed that quality early childhood education should be accessible, nurturing, and rooted in community.

Today, we are taking the next step in that journey.

Our vision is to create a dedicated Grade R classroom and learning environment that will provide children with the strong foundation they need before entering Grade 1. This project includes preparing and securing the site, building a purpose-designed classroom, creating a natural outdoor play space, and developing an environment where children can learn, explore, and thrive.

At the heart of this vision is our commitment to community. We want to continue our current model of supporting local families through subsidised and no-fee places for children from disadvantaged circumstances.
