Hi family and friends,
We are Jean and Marinda Brummelkamp, the parents-in-law of musician Burger le Roux (35 years old), born in the beautiful town of Robertson, Western Cape. Some of you may remember him as the 2010 Supersterre winner.
While helping our daughter, salon owner, build her new salon, Burger suffered a serious fall from a ladder on 20 November 2025. This resulted in a severe knee injury, tearing multiple ligaments and causing extensive tendon damage. He has already had specialist consultations and an MRI scan costing approximately R13 000 — a significant expense, especially without medical insurance. In the first week of December 2025, it was confirmed that Burger had developed two blood clots in his leg. He is currently receiving treatment for this serious condition, and these complications must be stabilised before any further decisions regarding surgery can safely be made. This will be confirmed early January 2026.
The earliest a government hospital can assist him is April 2026. However, a private orthopaedic surgeon reviewed his MRI on 25...
