Clinging onto last hope

Good day,

We are Caitlyn Sadlik & Hendrik Willemsen, and this is our story and the reason for starting this fundraiser in memory of our son, Zian Hendrik Willemsen.

Zian was born on the 31st of December 2022, the happiest day of our lives. He was the most beautiful baby boy, but along with this joy and excitement, unknown to us, were the toughest and hardest 8 months to come.

We were told that Zian had a problem with his kidneys before birth, but the doctors said that he would have to undergo a procedure where he could urinate through a tube inserted to bypass normal urination. It was deemed safe and reversible within 12 to 18 months.

This is where our journey began. As time passed, his condition did not improve as we had hoped and prayed for Zian. He was only at home for 3 weeks after birth and had to be readmitted to the hospital because Zian couldn't feed like a normal baby. He could not keep his milk down, and his stomach started to bloat, causing extreme pain and discomfort. Doctors were baffled, not knowing the cause, and they conducted numero...
