Together for Hope – The Final Stretch of Carle’s Healing Journey
On 19 October 2023, Carlé Jonker was diagnosed with cancer. Since then, it has been an intensive journey of treatment that has included chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation.
In April 2025, further examinations unfortunately showed that the cancer had spread to the L5 vertebra in the spine, as well as to the lungs and liver. After much prayer, reflection, and consultation, Carlè and her family decided to follow an alternative treatment program that focuses on restoring and strengthening the body.
This program extends over 18 months and costs approximately R666,000, a cost that is unfortunately not covered by medical aid.
What makes this journey remarkable is the incredible community of people who have already come alongside her. A core group faithfully carried the first months of treatment. There is also a smaller group of people, together with Carle’s mother, who contribute monthly to help make this treatment journey possible.
