Help Us Give Sunica a Fighting Chance

On 6 October 2026, a family’s world changed in a matter of moments.

Sunica is just 31 years old and comes from Upington in the Northern Cape. She is a beautiful, bubbly woman with a personality that fills a room. When Sunica does something, she gives it everything she has — she is someone who goes all out, loves deeply and gives her whole heart.

She is also a mother to three beautiful young children, aged 7, 5 and 3.

On 6 October, Sunica was involved in a devastating car accident outside Olifantshoek in the Northern Cape. Tragically, her husband lost his life in the accident, leaving their three young children without their father and Sunica fighting for her own life.

Sunica sustained severe injuries, including a serious head injury that resulted in bleeding and swelling on the brain. She also suffered a broken collarbone and shoulder blade, four fractured vertebrae, and three broken ribs — one of which punctured her lung.

She was rushed to Kathu Lenmed, where the medical team worked to stabilise her.
