Chair for Change

Hello, my name is Monica Leisa, and I never imagined I’d be sharing my story in this way.

Not long ago, I underwent a double leg amputation – a life-altering experience that has changed everything. Since then, I’ve been learning to adjust to a completely new way of living. I now use a wheelchair, but even with it, everyday tasks have become incredibly difficult. Getting in and out of bed, moving to a chair, or using the bathroom takes far more effort than I ever imagined.

Before this, I was the breadwinner for my family. I worked hard to provide for my three children and my husband, who is currently unemployed. Since my amputation, our family has faced not just emotional challenges, but significant financial strain. I’m blessed to have a loving and supportive husband who does all he can to help me, but the physical and emotional demands have taken their toll – on both of us.

One thing that could transform our daily lives is a hydraulic transfer lift chair. This equipment would allow me to move safely and comfortably, without needing to be lifted...
