Cheering for Mason

Our son, Mason, is a brave 3-year-old fighting Stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma.

Since his diagnosis, Mason has undergone major surgery to remove the primary tumour, seven rounds of intensive chemotherapy, countless blood tests, scans, bone marrow biopsies, and many weeks in hospital. Through every challenge, he has faced his treatment with incredible strength, resilience, and a smile that continues to inspire everyone around him.

While we recently received the encouraging news that his MRI shows no new tumours, Mason’s journey is far from over. His latest PET scan continues to show lesions throughout his skeleton, and his most recent bone marrow biopsy confirmed that cancer cells are still present in his bone marrow.

His next step is a stem cell transplant, beginning with the collection of his own stem cells, followed by high-dose chemotherapy and the transplant itself.
