About This Campaign
A NEW LEG…..A NEW LIFE….YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Chris Lombard was diagnosed with CRPS in 2012 and this illness has escalated through his whole body with a significant increase in pain levels over the years. Limiting his mobility and ability to perform normal daily duties. Playing with his grand children and spending time with his family and friends has become a challenge for Chris. Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) is an incurable disease that attacks the neurological nervous system and sends permanent pain impulses to the part that is affected as well as throughout the whole body as it develops over time. This disease also has an influence on blood circulation and shortage of blood oxygen functions in the affected parts of the body. In Chris's case, mainly the right leg was severely effected.
Due to the CRPS, the blood circulation in his right leg became non-existent and he got gangrene in his right foot which caused amputation of his right leg above the knee.
The cost for an entry level prosthetic leg starts at R160 000 and Government do not supply...
